A status sticker is a printed QR code you stick on the desk. Anyone who scans it sees a live page about that agent: whether it is connected, whether the session is on air, and how many people are listening. The page is read only. Scanning it changes nothing, unless you also give your sound team a device password.
This is not the public InterScribe status page. For that page, see Alerts and the status page.
Before you start
- You need permission to edit audio channels in your workspace. Without it, the Status page tab is visible but its buttons are switched off.
- The agent should already be set up. See Set up the desktop agent.
Make the status link and print the sticker
- STEP 1Open the Status page tab
Under Rooms & audio, open Agents, select the agent, then select its Status page tab. On the Overview tab, Make a sticker takes you there. The chip under the agent's name says Status sticker on or No status sticker.
- STEP 2Create the linkUnder Status link, select Create status link.
- STEP 3Check the pageSelect Open preview to see what a person sees when they scan the sticker.
- STEP 4Print the sticker
Select Print sticker. The print page offers Desk stickers, Table tent and Cable tags. Each carries a QR code and the line Scan for live status.
Under the link, the panel counts how often the page was scanned and when it was last viewed.
What a person sees after scanning
The page updates by itself. It shows:
- The agent's state: Live · streaming, Ready (connected, not on air), Offline or No agent assigned, with the agent's name and the channel it feeds.
- The current session and the next one.
- The input level, and a Live, but no sound warning when the input has been silent while live.
- A health summary: agent, session, booths and AI voice.
- A short code for the device, which support can use to find it.
- Visor mode, a full-screen view for a tablet. The screen stays on while the tab stays open.
Choose what the page shows
Under What the page shows, turn these on or off. Changes apply at once. All three are on for a new link.
- Listener counts: totals per language, never names.
- Audio device and computer name: shows which audio device and computer the agent uses, to help the sound team.
- Contact support: shows a help button that opens a chat with this device's details attached.
Let your sound team act with a device password
By default the page is read only. Under Device access, a six-digit Device password lets the people you give it to unlock a few controls on their own phone.
- STEP 1Set the passwordUnder Device password, select Set and enter exactly 6 digits. Select Change or Remove later.
- STEP 2Choose how long an unlock lastsUnder An unlock lasts, pick 15 min, 1 hour or 4 hours.
- STEP 3Choose what the password unlocks
Under The password unlocks, turn on only what your team needs: Listen to the feed, Sound check and test tone, Switch the audio input, Mute and unmute the agent and Reconnect the agent. Each one is marked Safe, Brief gap or On air, so you can see what it does to listeners.
- STEP 4Give the password to the sound team
They scan the sticker, select Unlock device controls, enter the password and choose how long to unlock.
- Listen to the feed, Sound check and test tone and Switch the audio input are on for a new link. Mute and unmute the agent and Reconnect the agent are off.
- Sound check only runs while the channel is not live. The test tone plays on the computer's headphones at any time.
- Muting works for desktop app agents only. While an agent is muted, listeners hear silence.
- Reconnecting the agent causes about 5 seconds of silence. Switching the input causes a gap of about 1 second.
- An unlock applies to that one phone. The password cannot end the session.
- After five wrong passwords, unlocking pauses for 10 minutes for that link.
- Recent use lists what was done and when, for example Unlocked, Wrong password, Input switched or Muted.
- To take control back at once, select Lock every open phone now. Changing or removing the password does the same, and phones that were listening stop.
Replace the link or turn the page off
If a sticker is lost, or you no longer want one on the desk, use the links at the bottom of the panel, next to Lost a sticker?
- Replace the link makes a new link and a new sticker. Every printed sticker stops working at once.
- Turn the status page off switches the page off. Every printed sticker stops working at once. Select Create status link to make a new one later.
A person who scans an old sticker sees "This status link no longer works. Ask your event team for a new sticker."
Check it worked
- The agent's chip says Status sticker on.
- Scanning the printed sticker with a phone opens the live page.
- After the first scan, the panel counts it under the link.
- To check the password, open the page on a phone, select Unlock device controls and enter it. The banner Controls unlocked appears.
The same panel is on a channel's page, for the channel instead of one agent.
