The floor language is the language spoken in the room. Speech recognition listens for it, and captions, translations and voices are made from it.

Where you set it

  • Before the session: the session's Speaker language is its floor language. See Languages.
  • During the session: in the Operator Console, the Source panel shows Floor language. Select it, search for the language and choose it.

The list in the Console offers the languages that can be transcribed. If no floor language is set, the Console's pre-flight check names it as missing and opens the picker for you.

Change it while you are live

You can change the floor language at any time, wherever the sound comes from. Changing it live pauses transcription for a few seconds. Listeners keep hearing the floor.

If something goes wrong

If captions come out in the wrong language, check Floor language in the Console's Source panel first.
