When a caption should not have gone out, you can remove it from the Console. It disappears for every listener, in every language, and leaves the transcript and the export.

Steps

  1. STEP 1Find the caption
In the Console's transcript, point at the caption, or select its line with the keyboard.
  2. STEP 2Ask to remove it
Select the × beside the caption (Remove for everyone), or press Delete on the selected line.
  3. STEP 3Confirm
Remove this caption? shows the caption. Select Remove, or press Enter. Select Keep, or press Esc, to leave it.

You have 6 seconds to undo

The line then says Removing for every listener in a few seconds. Until the countdown ends:

  • Undo, or Esc, puts the caption back.
  • Remove now, or Enter, sends the removal at once.

When the countdown ends, the line says Caption removed for every listener.
