Every listener picks two things on their own: the language they read, and what they hear. They can change both during the session.
Captions and translations · AvailablePick a caption language
- STEP 1Open SettingsOn the listener page, select Settings.
- STEP 2Choose CaptionsUnder Language, open Captions and pick a language. Search languages narrows the list.
- STEP 3Show the original, if you like
Turn on Show original to see the spoken language under each translation.
The bar at the bottom of the page shows the current choice, for example Language: French.
Pick what to listen to
Under Language, Listen in lists what this session offers, in three groups:
- From the room: the original sound, or a human interpreter.
- AI voice: an AI voice that interprets the speaker in the listener's language.
- Read aloud by your device: the phone or computer reads the captions aloud with its own voice.
When nothing is offered to listen to yet, the list says No audio is offered for this session yet. Before audio starts, the page reminds listeners: Please use headphones in public to avoid disturbing others.
When a voice pauses
Captions keep going whatever happens to a voice. Listeners may see:
- The French AI voice is reconnecting. Captions continue meanwhile. It comes back on its own, and the page says AI voice is back.
- AI voice has been turned off for this event. Captions continue below. Please contact the organizer.
- Waiting for the French interpreter. Captions continue meanwhile.
- The French interpreter is taking a short pause, or Another interpreter is taking over.
- An AI voice is covering for the interpreter, until the interpreter is back.
What you decide as the organizer
Captions and text translation are included in every language. You choose which languages listeners can hear, from your own interpreters or from AI voices, in the session's Interpretation settings. An AI voice uses AI voice hours only while someone listens. See Hours and credits.
