From the Console you can put a message on every listener's screen, in their own language: a card that shows once, or a notice pinned until you unpin it. Use a pinned notice for something that stays true for a while, like a break.

Steps

  1. STEP 1Open the dialog

Before the session goes live, select Pin a notice in the bar at the bottom. While you are live, select Announcement.

  2. STEP 2Choose once or pinned

Tick Pin it on listeners' screens until you unpin it to pin it. Leave it unticked for a card that shows once.

  3. STEP 3Write the message

Pick one of the ready notices, or write your own in Message. Keep it short: it has to fit on a phone, and the limit is 140 characters.

  4. STEP 4Choose the channels
Send it to Every channel, or pick one language. The dialog shows how many listeners it reaches.
  5. STEP 5Send it

Select the button at the bottom. It names what happens: Send it or Pin it for every channel, Send to or Pin to and the language for one channel.

What listeners see

  • A card that shows once appears on every listener's screen in the channels you chose.
  • A pinned notice shows as a large panel over the captions, in each listener's language, until you unpin it. Listeners can shrink it but not close it.
  • While you are live, a pinned notice is read out once, then stays on screen.
  • Before the session goes live, nothing is read out and a notice can only be pinned. Listeners waiting for the session see it until you unpin it.

A ready notice is shown to each listener in their own language. If you edit it, listeners see your wording, translated.

Take a notice down

The pinned notices show in a strip in the Console. Select Unpin on one, or Unpin all. Unpinning does not ask first: taking a notice down is always safe.
