For whoever runs the sound desk. Print it, or save it as a PDF, and keep it at the desk. Each item links the page that explains it.

Start-up, in this order
  • Plug the computer into power, and connect it to the router with a network cable.
  • Connect a spare output of the mixer to the computer's line input or a USB audio interface. See Get good audio into InterScribe.

  • Unmute the channel that feeds InterScribe on the desk. A muted channel sends silence.
  • Open the InterScribe Agent. Its Overview shows Agent is connected while it waits, and LIVE while it sends sound. See Set up the desktop agent.

  • Check Audio settings → Microphone is the mixer's input, and turn on Use mono audio if the input carries two channels.

  • Under Keep this computer awake, choose While broadcasting (recommended), or Always while signed in on a dedicated event computer. Closing a laptop lid still puts it to sleep.

Sound check
  • Select Test audio on the agent's card in Rooms & audio → Agents, speak at the microphone and watch for We can hear it.

  • Or, in the Console, Run a sound check and wait for audio heard. See Standby, sound check and auto-start.

During the event
Who to call
  • Write down the name and number of the person running the Console.
  • Write down the name and number of your IT contact for the network.
  • InterScribe support: in the agent, Help & Support → Report a bug, with Include connection diagnostics ticked.
