Bible verses in the captions, in every listener’s language

When the preacher cites a verse, like John 4:14, the reference becomes a link in the captions. Each listener taps it and reads the passage in a Bible in their own language.

What the listener sees

Tap the verse. Read it in your Bible.

The verse opens in a sheet over the captions, in the version your church chose for that language, with the speaker’s version under it.

  • Book names they know

Each Bible shows its own language’s book names: Juan in Spanish, Jean in French.

  • Read the chapter

From the verse, listeners can open the whole chapter in the Bible reader and keep reading.

What you do as the organiser

Choose the Bible each language reads.

  1. 1A version per languagePick which installed Bible each language reads, in your workspace settings.
  2. 2Session by sessionA session can turn the Bible reader off; the rest follow your workspace setting.
  3. 3Pin a verse from the consoleType a reference such as John 3:16 and pin it. Listeners read the verse in their own Bible.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    The preacher cites a verse

“Turn with me to John 4:14.”

  2. Step 2

    InterScribe spots the reference

The reference in the captions becomes a link, in every listener’s language.

  3. Step 3

    The listener taps it

The verse opens in their own Bible, with the speaker’s version beside it.

What Bible references won’t do

  1. 15 spoken languagesVerse links work when the sermon is spoken in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German. Listeners in any language can still open the Bible reader.
  2. 2A reference, not a quoteA verse read aloud without saying its reference is not linked.
  3. 3Public-domain BiblesThe versions we carry are public-domain or openly licensed texts. Most modern licensed translations are not available yet.

Which Bible versions can we use?

The public-domain and openly licensed versions installed in InterScribe. You choose one per language in your workspace settings.

Does it work for every sermon language?

Verse links work for sermons spoken in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German. Listeners can still open the Bible reader whatever language the sermon is in.

Can listeners keep the verses?

Yes. Signed-in listeners can highlight a passage and add a note. It stays private to them.
